Dr. Sauder brings a wealth of experience to Dr. Mona's practice having served as her Chairman while she was faculty and Head of the Melanoma Clinic at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He practices both in San Diego and Toronto joining Dr. Mona throughout the year at her La Jolla office.
Dr. Sauder is past chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, former Head of Dermatology at Princeton University Medical Center and currently serves as a Board Member of the American Melanoma Foundation. He is also past Chief of Dermatology at University of Toronto. Dr. Sauder has held senior positions with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and has assisted in the development of numerous novel biologics.
Dr. Sauder trained at McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal and McMaster University Medical School. He completed his Dermatology training at the Cleveland Clinic and the National Institutes of Health. He is past president of the Canadian Dermatology Association, past and founding president of the Canadian Society for Investigative Dermatology and founding editor of the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. He has also served on numerous other editorial boards, including the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Lymphokine Research, Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, and International Journal of Immunopathology and Pharmacology, and Experts Review of Clinical Immunology
His research has focused on the molecular mechanism of the cutaneous (skin) immune response. He was instrumental in developing the field of cutaneous cytokine biology by identifying the role of certain immune system molecules, interleukins and cytokines, in inflammatory skin diseases and tumors. Dr. Sauder has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of numerous national and international awards.
Sarah Gross, Practice Manager
Sarah is a San Diego local and has been a member of Dr. Mona’s practice since 2013. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Health Services from California State University, San Marcos and is known for her poise in managing the practice. Sarah is a volunteer for Special Olympics and enjoys spending time with her family and exploring San Diego in her free time.
Lacy Johnson, Patient Coordinator
Lacy is a native of the quaint Northern California city of Eureka. Lacy joins Dr. Mona at both her La Jolla and Coronado offices. She attended Humboldt State University and is known for her sweet demeanor with patients. Lacy's husband proudly serves in the United States Navy. In her free time, Lacy enjoys reading, hiking, and taking her dog to the beach.
Natalie Rundigen, Patient Coordinator
Natalie joins Dr. Mona’s practice as a Southern California native from Cathedral City, California. She attended University of California, Santa Cruz and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University San Marcos. Natalie is currently a Pre-Med student with aspirations of becoming a Psychiatrist.
